There is bad news for all iPhone 4S users, reportedly its confirmed that new iPhone is suffering from poor battery life.
Like the initially flawed iPhone 4 with its glaring death-grip flaw or antenna issues, it looks like the recently launched iPhone 4S is suffering from its own performance issues, such as a low battery life.
According to the reports, iPhone with poor battery have been circulating for last couple of weeks, as users said that their iPhones are working its way through 10% of battery every hour, even when just in standby.
Apple seems to be aware of the issue, with reports of it contacting affected users spreading over the internet.Speculation about the possible cause of the issue seems to be centred around the iOS 5’s Location Services, with the device constantly checking time zones, and draining battery power. If this is indeed the issue, a temporary fix for users is simple – switch off the automatic Setting Time Zone feature. While the culprit is thought to be iOS 5, there have been no publicized reports of older generation hardware suffering from the similar problem under the new OS.
Now here is quote of a user who is facing such a problem.
“My battery life was extremely poor – 10% drop in standby every hour. I noticed that the usage figure was roughly half that of standby, even when the phone was not being used, so I assumed something was crashing or running in the background. I switched off all thenew features including Siri and location services, but it was still really poor. I also triedsetting up a clean phone with no apps but it is still really poor.”
Many iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners have also have the same problem with their battery since updating their phones to the latest software version.
Apple engineers have acknowledged this issue and are reportedly working to fix this soon. So expect an update to your iPhone 4S pretty soon. To be noted however, is that not every iPhone 4S owner is facing a problem with battery life.
For now, Apple has yet to release an official statement about the entire issue.
